In the Mail: Today was Like Christmas

Getting the mail today was an epic win for me. eBay and trades and pick-ups...the mailbox was very full.

Here's today's "In the Mail..."

eBay: 2008 Goudey GU, "Derek Jeter Says..." and 2007 Bowman Heritage Foil Parallel

I like the foil card, but I think the Goudey is cheesy.  Derek Jeter says what? (right now, give me 130 million for 6 years, Yankees).
eBay: 2007 Upper Deck Play Ball Apparel Collection GU jersey, AC-HA

This is one ugly baseball card. It's simply just another pick-up for the Halladay collection, and it only cost .99.  Moving on...

Colbey over at Cardboard Collections had a free card giveaway of sorts and I read the post in time to claim the Phillies!  He busted some boxes of 1993 Topps Stadium Club Series 2 and a box of 1994 Donruss Series 2.  These cards definitely brought back some memories of classic Phillies teams.
Darren Daulton, Curt Shilling, Lenny (wanna make a bet?) Dykstra
Thanks Colbey for the classic cards!

The next package I opened was from Adam at Thoughts and Sox.  We worked out a simple trade where I sent him around 100 or so Red Sox cards, and he sent me around a 100 or so Phillies. He needed a bunch of cards from the 1987 Classic Green set, and I was happy to be able to help him out with that.  He sent me some really nice Phillies cards, most of which I do not have, and many players who I do not have many cards of, like Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Shane Victorino.
Awesome variety and nice looking cards! Here are a few of my favorites.
Thanks Adam, hope to trade with you again sometime.

Next up (I told you, it was like Christmas), a free card from Cardboard Junkie. He offered up his dupe, slightly dinged cornered (I cannot see it though) Topps Stephen (OMG he will be the best pitcher of all time except for the fact that he might not be because he got hurt) Strasburg #661.  The first person to get him their address got the card, and wouldn't you know, that person was me! I've opened TONS of packs of 2010 Topps and still haven't pulled the damn thing, but now thanks to Cardboard Junkie I have it! Here is is, in all it's sought-after glory:
I scanned it bad, and just cropped the border. It's not some sort of obscure borderless parallel.
And lastly, I opened a package from Derek at Tomahawk Chopping. He and I worked a Braves for Phillies trade, and he sent me some sweet cards, including a few Halladays I did not have:

He also had some Strasburgs I did not have, so he sent those along too, in addition to a nice gold bordered Roy Oswalt Topps 2010:

Yes, a SP Stras-Mas card.
Thanks Derek! Enjoy the Hanson auto!

Today was an great day for my collection, and it sure makes getting the mail much more interesting and fun.  Thanks to everyone who traded and sent me cards.

  1. Thanks for the Hansen! It was like Christmas in my mailbox today too! I got the Hansen auto from you, a Chris Long auto 6/25 and some other great cards too. I hope to get the post up soon.

    Glad you like the Halladay's.
