Joe Blanton > R2C2?

...At least in comparing their first (meaningless, but what the hell) Spring Training starts.

Let's have a look, shall we?

Cole Hamels vs. Yankees:

Roy Halladay vs. Blue Jays:

Clifton Lee vs. Tigers
Roy Oswalt vs. O's

Big Joe Blanton vs. Yankees
Why yes, it would seem that big Joe Blanton had the best first outing of all five starting pitchers.  He also faced more batters. Yes, yes, it is Spring Training, but still.  It's a good sign when your number five guy is throwing well this early in the game. Then again, Blanton is really a number three or four, so of course we are fortunate to have him in our five slot (assuming no trade).

It's hard not to be excited about the Phillies' pitching staff this season (obviously, and barring injuries).  Who do you think will give them the most trouble in the NL East?  The Braves are the obvious answer, but watch out for the Nationals too. I think they are going to be better than last year, and maybe even finish out of the cellar, giving that spot up to the Amazin' Mets.

Who is the best pitcher for your team this season? How many games do you expect him to win?
