Philly Show Post One: Random Pick Ups, Football Edition

I had a great time at the Philly Show this past Saturday. I had around three hours to spare to look at cards. Not nearly enough time, but I managed to get some nice pick ups. I got several cards for my player collections and I bought a hobby box of 2011 Topps.  Many posts coming up will highlight what I picked up at the show, and pulled from the hobby box.  I hope you guys enjoy my ramblings!

The show itself was pretty crowded, and although smaller than before the dealers had some nice stuff. I especially liked the large array of quarter boxes, and some dealers had a 20 cards for a dollar thing going as well. For those prices, why not get some random cards.  Remember, I keep telling myself I don't don't really collect football cards, but I came across a few random cards I couldn't pass up as part of the 20 for a dollar thing.

Ray Rice, my favorite Raven after Joe Flacco.  This guy is incredible and really fun to watch. He is short and quick, and seems to slither through defenses seemlessly.  I found this card and I had to have it.

And my favorite Raven, Joe Flacco. A product of the University of Delaware, and an all around nice guy who seems humble.  This will go as part of my small player collection I am building of Flacco.

And the last card of the day: Tim Tebow. Now I am not a huge fan, but for some reason I felt like this was a good card to have.  Hopefully Tebow will have a breakout year either this year if the season is played or in the next few years and the value of his cards will go up. Then I can sell this and buy baseball cards! Wishful thinking, maybe--but maybe not?

I kid about not wanting to be a football card collector-and really, I don't. However, there are some players I really like and I will collect. Flacco and Rice being two of them.  Plus, sometimes collecting football cards breaks up the monotony of the only Topps baseball thing.  There seems to be a lot of variety, and since I don't collect them, they are all new to me.
