Happy Chase Utley Returns to the Phillies Lineup Day!
Chase will be hitting in the three hole. Here's to him going 4-4 tonight with a bunch of RBIs. He is back way before it was predicted he would be, but that's ok with us Phillies fans. We need all the offense we can get, considering over the past ten suckfests games we have scored a grand total of 15 runs.
P A T H E T I C.
What does one do when their team is in an offensive slump? Buy large quantities of baseball cards, of course.
Well, I was in Wal-Mart and they had 4 blasters of 2011 Bowman and about 6 rack packs. Should I have bought all of them and sold them on the bay? Hmmm.
I didn't, but I did get a rack pack and a blaster. Here are the results of the rack pack.
I am trying to get all the Phillies from this set, including inserts and prospects and all that jazz. Got Phillies to trade? Hit me up.
I was happy to pull a Strasburg for the player collection. I look forward to seeing that kid pitch again.
And here are the prospect cards, including the chrome. No Bryce Harper here. However, if I did pull one and if I do ever pull one, it will go on eBay faster than you can blink. While I respect his talents I am not a fan of his attitude and demeanor. I'm not stupid--I won't shy away from boxes and packs that include his high end cards, but I won't keep them either.
Like Strasburg, Harper is one injury or maybe even one hitting slump away from his card values going in the toilet. I remember Strasburg's red 1/1 went for over 16k, right? Insanity.
I like the design of these cards, so I'll probably buy more. I have more to show off, too. I did open a blaster. Better results there. Stay tuned!
