2011 Topps Pro Debut

I bought a hobby pack of  2011 Topps Pro Debut at my LCS a few weeks ago.  Why? I don't know. I guess because I never opened a pack of Topps Pro Debut before.  Plus, Allen & Ginter wasn't out yet.  Speaking of that, I am going to chase that set along with mostly every other collector out there.

Hopefully we can all send each other our doubles.

A Ginter hobby box is going to be my next big card purchase.  I can hardly wait...really.

I must say I was kind of bummed that the card design is the exact same design as Series 1 and 2.  Is anyone else getting a little sick of this design?  Maybe it's because I just busted a Series 2 hobby box, but who knows.
One cool thing about prospect cards is that you get to see a whole bunch of different uniforms, mascots, and team logos.  I'm always in awe of some of the things that minor league teams are called.
The Rome Braves.  And the logo is a Roman column.  Interesting and perplexing at the same time.
The Hickory Crawdads.  Brilliant.
Name fail, Royals.  Fail.  This kid's swing doesn't look so hot either. Just sayin.'
The Jacksonville Suns.  BORING.  C'mon, they can do so much better than that.
I must say I haven't heard of one of these prospects, but maybe we will hear their names someday.  I don't think I will buy any more of this product this year.  It pretty much put me to sleep, probably like this post is doing for you (I hope not).

So here we are, the second half of the season has started.  The way things are shaping up, it looks to be a very interesting run for many teams.  All of the divisions are in play, and there are so many unanswered questions.  It's going to be very fun to watch.

  1. I've always loved some of the Minor League team names! It's almost like the same group of people were coming up with all the names for the teams and just, gave up halfway through.
