Here is what I know about Jonathan Papelbon: he was a closer for the Red Sox. He has been hurt a few times. He won a World Series. He dances a mean Irish jig.
What I don't know, because I don't follow the Red Sox or the AL too closely, is what kind of closer he is. I know he's a good one, but I'm going to start doing some research.
Happy trails (presumably), Ryan Madson. Madson was a fan favorite in Philly, and always a lighthearted practical joker. He was also one of the only Phillies who would always be willing to sign an autograph for kids before a game. Good dude.
Paplebon is definitely a good closer. Being a Jays fan meant: 'lights out' when he was on the mound. He is very deliberate & throws his fastball the vast majority of the time. Hitters, even knowing the heater is coming, have a hard time squaring it up.
