And Now For Something Completely Not Different

I think it's about time I post on what I've pulled from 2012 packs and boxes.  Don't worry, I won't bore you with many base cards and such, since most of you probably have seen almost all of them.  I will reveal, however, that I have decided to chase the set.  Hence, the hobby box I bought yesterday.  I am working on a spreadsheet of what I have and what I don't have.
When I mentioned I am trying to collect the set, I am including inserts.  I decided to show some of the inserts from the first few packs I opened here in this post.
I want to like these inserts.  I am trying really hard but I am just not in love with them.  But what's not to like about Golden Moments, Gold Standard, Golden Greats, Gold parallel inserts, the Golden Giveaway--maybe a little golden overload is going on.
These minis are popular, although they remind me of just how many 1987 Topps cards I have in the common bin.
I keep wanting the base logos on the Golden Moments cards to be game used bases.  How cool would that be?
It's a shame I didn't pull a Jeremy Lin card from one of these packs.

I'll give you three guesses as to what retail store I bought these cards from...
You're looking at the Nats part time first baseman, and someone I think will have a breakout year.
Just like I wish the bases on the Golden  Moment cards were game used, I wish the (overly large) coins on the Golden Great cards were real too.
I definitely have doubles of the Montero card, which is now outdated, as he now plays for the Mariners.
He had a decent World Series (rolling my eyes).
I'm considering starting a player collection of Matt Moore, and a few other players to be named later.

Thrilling stuff, I know.  More to come later!

So I'm trying to tweet more.  Follow me @FunnerHere. Please.
