Sometimes the Cards Come to You 3: The Patriotic Version

Hi all. I am back from a quick trip to Pittsburgh for work.  I'm tired, but I didn't post yesterday so I must post tonight!  Pittsburgh observation: I have been there many times before, but this time it seems like the Pittsburgh sports craze has reached new heights.  On talk radio it was all Penguins, Penguins, Penguins. Then Steelers and Pirates...mostly negative stuff about the Pirates.  Apparently they are unhappy with the sub par play of Pedro Alvarez.  The one thing that really stood out this time though are the number of stores solely devoted to Pittsburgh sports teams.  There were no less than three at the mall I went to.  And even one in the Pittsburgh airport.  Too much yellow and black for this Ravens fan.  Let's just say I am glad to be home.

Here are the last of the $1 2006 Topps Chrome cards.  The only thing is, these are not of the baseball variety.  They are Declaration of Independence and Constitution Chrome cards.
While it is sometimes crappy to "waste" a card on this and not a player, I don't mind with these because they are interesting and nice to look at.
My favorite card of all of these.  So neat to see the Constitution on a baseball card. And a chrome card, at that.
Richard Bassett.  Who?
Chrome refractor Jacob Broom.  Cool looking card.

Time for bed...I am exhausted!

  1. Pedro Alvarez is striking out once every other at bat. He looks completely lost at the plate which is an absolute shame considering his potential.

As for the cards, those are pretty darn awesome. I didn't know that they made those in Topps Chrome.
