Blasting Gypsies

How can I write about my crappy rack pack of 2012 Bowman without showing you guys my Gypsy Queen blaster first?  I did happen to find 2012 Bowman early at one of my local Targets, so if you are looking for some, try yours.

I am looking for Phillies GQ base cards. I don't have the Halladay, Lee, Pence...or really any of the players I collect.  I am hoping to acquire them via trades at some point because I don't plan on getting any additional GQ packs or blasters.  Singles at shows? Maybe.

The run yesterday was very tough, but I finished the race.  To me, running is like this: every time you go for a run it is a crap shoot as to how you are going to feel.  There are days when you go out and feel awesome--like you can run for miles and miles.  Then there are days that you go out and feel like you'd rather be having root canal without Novocaine, or something similarly unpleasant.  I am not saying it was a horrible run, but it was certainly complicated by the fact that I strained my left Achilles at mile 5. So I ran the last 5 miles in some discomfort which really sucked.

The Broad Street Run is the largest ten mile race in the United States.  There were around 40,000 people that ran yesterday, and for the first time the crowd actually felt way too big. Compare this to the first time I did the run in 2009, where there were 23,000 runners.  It's amazing to run with so many people, but logistically it has become sort of a nightmare for the race organizers, especially with parking.  It took a full 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot after the race, when all you really want to do is get home!
So last night there was a little incident between Bryce Harper and Cole Hamels.  Actually, Cole Hamels started it, Harper finished it with a steal of home. Score one for the kid.  More on that in a later post.
I'll also have more GQ cards to show, too.  Inserts and minis and such.

  1. I don't have an issue with Hamels plunking Harper. I know it was a message pitch, but I've never understood why pitcher stopped taking ownership of the plate. They let batters settle in there with all their body armor and I think it's a shame. Having said that, Hamels was an idiot for talking about hitting Harper on purpose. He may have won the battle, but he lost the war, and 5 games worth of money.
