Chew on These Sweet Cards

The guys over at Community Gum were kind enough to remember me when they pulled some cards they knew I'd like.  Although they presented me with several, due to my self imposed card buying hiatus (until the National) I only decided to pick up two of them.

Any chance I can get to get a Stephen Strasburg game used, jersey, serial numbered, or otherwise rare insert card for a decent price I take it.  Strasburg's cards are pretty expensive, and they don't look to be going down in value since he is having a great season.  I was presented with this card and grabbed it for my ever growing Strasburg player collection.

Leave it to me to collect one of the most sought after and therefore expensive players in the sport!
Things that I like about the card is that Stras is in the navy Nats uniform, and the swatch is white and not that gross gray color.  This kid could easily win the Cy Young award if R.A. Dickey and his wicked knuckleball would come back down to earth.

The other card I got is this sweet 2012 Series 2 Mike Schmidt gold ring card.  This card is very thick, and the ring is quite substantial.  I figured the odds of me pulling something like this are pretty much zero, so I decided to grab it here.  It'll look great in the "special" Phillies cards binder.
Continuing on my self imposed card buying ban, this morning I bought seven more 2011 Triple Threads Halladay /1500 cards.  Believe it or not, even though I am spending some cash it isn't nearly what I would be spending.  Yeah, I'll justify it that way.
