Everybody Hurts

No, it's not the REM song, but it is the state of the MLB these days. Although some of these guys have come off or are going to be coming off the DL soon, all of them have had stints on the DL this season, or continuing from last season (I'm looking at you, Ryan Howard).


Why are so many players getting injured? And doesn't it seem to you that many more players are having Tommy John surgery?  Your elbow hurts? Tommy John.  Your shoulder hurts? Tommy John.  You have a headache? Tommy John.  You get the point.


This is nuts.  Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci made a "disabled list all star team" lineup.  Take a look at the names on this list:

I have a very long and hopefully fun weekend ahead. I will be spending 75% of my weekend outside, and since the weather is going to be nice that should be awesome. I tan well.  As I've mentioned before, I am going to all three Phillies vs. O's games at Camden Yards.  Game one starts tonight at 7:05.

Hoping the Phillies can take the first game in the series behind the strong arm of....Joe Blanton.
