Truly Topps

To make a kind of long-ish story short, I was tweeting with Topps back in early August and the conversation turned to birthdays. Actually, Justin was tweeting Topps and I got in on the conversation. Heck, here is the convo:

I wasn't expecting that, of course. I was just trying to help Justin out in getting a birthday gift. The fact that I was going to get one too was totally unexpected, but so cool!

So the National happened, and I met all the people at Topps, attended the party thing, etc. I don't need to rehash all that (unless you are new to the blog and want to read about it). I didn't say anything about being the one that they were going to send a gift to because I thought that would seem kind of odd and annoying. Justin messaged me and told me he got a complete set of 2012 Topps, including the elusive 661!

So I hadn't gotten anything from them up until today, when this arrived in an unassuming brown box:

Yup, a hobby box of 2012 Topps Chrome. Talk about going above and beyond. Thanks so much, Topps, for the awesome birthday gift!

It definitely pays to follow Topps on Twitter. They are very generous and hold contests several times a week and give out amazing prizes to their followers, and every once in awhile they do cool stuff like this.
