Congrats Nats

Congratulations to the 2012 NL East Champion Washington Nationals.

Congrats to fellows such as Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Danny Espinosa, Mike Morse, Adam LaRoche, Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Zimmerman, and Jordan Zimmerman.  The Nats are 96-64 right now.  Pretty impressive.

Anyone that follows the blog knows that I am not a Nats hater, despite them being in the same division as the Phillies.  Heck, I even collect both Zimmermans, and Strasburg.

I'd be a liar if I said that this title doesn't hurt, considering the Phillies have owned this title for five years in a row.  But all good things must come to an end, and it is the Nationals turn to shine in the spotlight.  Goodness knows they deserve it.

I bought a ticket to the final Phillies game of the season, which is being played at Nationals Park on Wednesday afternoon.  I am taking off work and heading down to the game, sitting five rows behind the Phillies dugout, and wearing my Phillies gear proudly.  Odds are it will be a bench player game for both teams, but I'll enjoy it regardless.

Plus I will get to see Darin Ruf play for the first time!  Ruf has become my new favorite player of the moment.  He has a seven game hitting streak going, and tonight he hit a triple which ended up being the difference in the game.

I will stick with this team through thick and thin, just as I always have.  My NL team for the playoffs is the Nats, and my AL team is the Orioles.  A beltway series would be epic!
