Ok, not literally, of course. Although if you want to they do smell like...wait for it...cardboard. But the Chrome cards have a unique scent to them, don't they?
This post is not about actually smelling baseball cards (although if that is your thing, it's cool--who am I to judge?). It's about a thought I had about taking the time to sit and look through the myriad of cards that I have amassed. ...Or not doing that nearly often enough.
I realized tonight in a sort of "hmmm" moment that I hardly ever sift through my collection and look at the cards I've collected. I mean really look, and appreciate them. I am on my third Roy Halladay binder full of 9 pocket pages and I don't really ever look through them either. But as I was putting some cards in there I did tonight, and it's almost like every card is new again as I'm sifting through the pages. It's amazing the variety of baseball cards that we collect, and that the companies manufacture. That might seem like a simple statement--because it is, but it's not something I think of too often.
I guess I am in a reflective mood tonight, maybe because I have put my 1,000th Roy Halladay card in the binder!
Does anyone have this card they'd like to trade?
It's a long shot because this is a SP. I'd like to find the mini and the regular card if possible.
I hope everyone had a great holiday!
I might. Let me get home and check Saturday or Sunday. I have hundreds of 2012 gq mini's layin around!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteI do have a copy of the full sized SP, but alas I don't have the mini.
ReplyDeleteI do have some other mini's you might be interested in as well from GQ... I have the Sepia /99 of Rollins and Hamels. I also have the black bordered Schmidt and Victorino. I have the Moonshot insert Mini's of Schmidt, Thome and Howard. I have the Sliding Stars insert mini of Rollins. I also have the full sized SP's of Lee and Oswalt.
Also, I have a Allen and Ginter EXT (found in rip cards) of Ryan Howard.
I know the post was originally for Halladay, and if all you want is the SP full sized card of him, that's fine as well! Just thought I'd throw some stuff out there!
