Hi. Are you following me? Please do! ----------------->
I think I am buying cards too fast to keep up with posting about the cards I buy. Did that make sense? A few weeks ago I went to my local card shop and perused the cards, mulling over buying a hobby box of something. The $92 bucks for a 2011 Heritage seemed a bit steep, so I decided to go with an on sale product, and one I really like: 2010 T-206, on sale for only $50--a good deal for the quality of cards you get, plus two guaranteed hits.
The last time I bought a box of this product I got lots of good trading material as well, and my supply is dwindling. It's restocked now. Here is post one of three that I plan to do.
Two Reds rookies and some Braves rookie named Heyward. Gotta love Vasquez's crazy hair, too.
Here are a bunch of vintage and legend pulls. No, including Pujols was not a mistake. He'll be included with these men one day for sure.
I don't like seeing Cliff Lee in any uniform besides the Phillies. A few more vintage, a Pirate, Wright and Ryan Howard. Zimmerman goes in the Zim binder.
And then here are some short print cards, the ones with no numbers on the back and Timmy's checklist. The Babe is included. Sometimes it feels weird when I pull Babe Ruth cards, and I can't put my finger on why. Maybe it is because of the reverence that surrounds his name? I don't get the same feeling when I pull Mantle or Ty Cobb cards, for example. For some reason when it comes to Babe Ruth, I guess in my mind it is a bit sacrilegious that his cards are being mass produced.
The next post we'll go smaller, and talk about the minis in the box. As for trading the above, I'm game for all except cards for my player collections and the Ruth and Heyward short prints-- unless you can wow me with a trade offer (like a 206 or similar Halladay, Oswalt, Lee, Strasburg, or Zimmerman SP).
If you're looking to trade off some of these cards, I could use the following to complete my set. 12, 15, 17, 29, 35, 42, 50, 53, 54, 65, 66, 70, 74, 83, 84, 91, 96, 107, 114, 116, 128, 137, 146, 156, 157, 179, 180, 186, 191, 193, 197, 201, 204, 211, 221, 222, 227, 228, 233, 236, 244, 257, 260, 263, 273, 277, 281, 282, and 299.
