Blue Jays Soar at Community Gum's Group Break

Community Gum had an all Fleer group break and I decided I wanted in. Not for the Phillies, but for the Blue Jays.  Why the Jays?  That's easy.  Roy Halladay was with them for most of his career, so I wanted to scoop up base cards and especially any inserts that might pop up.

Surprisingly enough there were other players on the Blue Jays besides Roy Halladay in the late 90's and 2000's, so I also got them too!  Carlos Delgado seemed to rule the lot.

I had never seen these Fleer Avant cards, but they are really cool.  The picture of the player is set a bit behind the frame of the card, so it almost looks and feels framed.  I like the bright colors, too.

The Alex Rios is a hit...numbered out of 150. Not bad.
But the big hit is above and below.  A Carlos Delgado dual jersey and auto numbered out of /149.
And then above, the Halladay hits.  My scanner cut off the cards at the top, but you get the point.  I needed all of these cards so they are a welcomed addition to the 425 Halladay cards in the binder.  Speaking of which, I need to start a new binder.

If anyone has a dual auto/jersey of a Phillies player (or bonus points for one of the players in my player collection!) and you want to trade for the Delgado or any other card(s), let me know!

  1. That's a nice Delgado card. You may want to try hitting up Ted @ Crinkly Wrappers since he's a big Jays fan.
