Congrats to the 2011 Phillies who have now won 100 games! Prior to this there were 83 teams in baseball history who have won 100 games or more. The Phillies are the 84th. In Phillies franchise history, they are the third to have done it.
The end of this season is incredible. The Red Sox lost to the Orioles, the Rays beat the Yankees. They are now tied for the AL wildcard! At the beginning of the month the Red Sox were over 9 games ahead. They have lost 19 games in September.
The Cardinals just tied the game versus the Astros. Should they win that, they will be tied with the Braves for the NL wildcard lead! The last games of the season are going to be great to watch. So much is at stake.
Hard to believe the playoffs start so soon. I want to be excited about watching football, but with all this going on I just cannot get into it yet. I'm sure that will change after the World Series, but until then it's mainly baseball for me.
