Knowing that he collects Astros players, and seeing as I am now collecting Hunter Pence--an Astro for his whole career prior to coming to the Phillies this summer--I figured I'd ask if he had any spare Pence cards he'd be willing to send to a Pence collector who is just starting out (me). Needless to say he came through more than he needed to, including in the trade package some of these awesome cards below, and also singlehandedly making my Pence collection actually look like something semi-respectable.
Seems fitting to open the Pence cards with an Opening Day card.
This card shimmers, it's numbered, and I love it!
Kimball Mini Pence
Carlos Lee and Hunter Pence Cosigners serial numbered.
I am coming to realize that some of my favorite cards have red or orange borders. I love how the cards just seem to "pop" because of the bold colors.
Something you don't see too much of--the color pink on a baseball card as seen on the left hand side of this Heritage example.
All Star Rookie indeed.
And another serial numbered card that was included.
I'm off to watch the Eagles hopefully beat the Cowboys. The Ravens came from behind today to beat the Cardinals, so I'm looking for an Eagles win too to go two for two today. Wow, read the last part of that sentence again. I think I used every version of "to."
Thanks for the awesome trade Sam!
