First, thanks to Dawgbones, my fellow Phillies collecting blogging buddy, for giving me the final Diamond Giveaway Code I needed to to reach 45! Thanks also to Ted at Crinkly Wrappers, who also sent me a code to help me along the way. Now I am working on a few trades to get 45 unique rings. If anyone needs D-backs, Astros, Dodgers, A's, Phillies, Rays, KC A's, NY Giants, or Pilots, maybe we can help each other out somehow.
The pack rips from Thursday night included football and baseball. I showed the football packs where I got a hit, so now let's see how I did with the baseball packs.
It was an Update Value Box that I purchased, which included 5 packs of 2011 Update and one pack of Bowman Chrome Hobby edition. Also included was this special Bryce Harper card pictured above. There are three variations to this, and I own three cards. All of them have the red background.
Tyler Skaggs was drafted 40th in the first round of the 1999 draft. Wade Gaynor was drafted in the third round of the 1999 draft.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I got this screaming Grant Balfour card that made me laugh.
The Phillies will be looking for big things from Michael Stutes this coming season. He was very good last year and the hope is that he will get even better out of the bullpen.
This was the only gold card I pulled from the packs, an All Star Gaby Sanchez.
I pulled a really nice Nolan Ryan Topps 60 card. He has a few variations of the Topps 60. I believe I have one of him in a Rangers or Mets (?) uniform as well.
I wish I had more to show you, but I didn't do too well with the Update packs, or the Bowman pack. I did get two Diamond Giveaway cards, which was a big score for me.
I hope you all are enjoying the football games today if you are watching like I am. The Falcons/Giants game is pretty good so far. It looks like whoever get the big play will win the game, since both defenses are playing so well. True story: my brother (who went to college on a D1 baseball scholarship and was scouted by MLB teams) struck out Matt Ryan (who was a very good baseball player) on three straight pitches at the Carpenter Cup in Philadelphia. He never lets me forget that!
I have 59 unique rings and will never get the final, Mantle ring so I would be willing to trade them off. I have a bunch of double rings too but I don't know how we would trade directly.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat. 59 and counting. If you tell us what rings you need and give us your screen name we may be able to help !
