I wasn't expecting much, but I did wind up getting some cool stuff (including a hit), as you will see below, along with some color commentary from yours truly.
Ponder this. The card design reminds me a little of how when you walk into a person's home and you can tell they are trying to keep up with times in terms of the decor, but they fail because they try too hard, and instead there are little knick-knacks and trinkets everywhere. Just look at what is going on with this card design. First we have the horrid Score logo in the upper right hand corner. It dwarfs the player's name, which is in all caps right below, screaming at us. Then there is the picture of the player, which is semi-decent, except when you get to the bottom, where we learn his position (read: QB - VIKINGS) and oh by the way he is a *ROOKIE* in case you cannot see that. Don't even get me started on the little triangle thing with the helmet. The card design is too busy, Score!
Quinton Carter is also a *ROOKIE* and here he is shown at the Combine. It would have been nice to see more of him, but Score didn't think so. By the way, there is a *ROOKIE* card in each pack. That's what they advertise.
Dude's arms are massive. Note: I did not pull a *ROOKIE* card of his teammate, Mr. Tebow.
Derrick Mason was the only Raven I pulled, and he isn't even a Raven. He's currently a free agent, having played with the Jets and Texans this season without much luck.
Some Patriotic *ROOKIE* action here.
It's a small miracle that the Eagles made it to 8-8 this season, and that they even had a chance to win the division up until the last few weeks. Perhaps that is just telling of the state of the NFC East, a once powerful division that now produces 9-7 playoff teams.
There are several inserts, like the Millennium Men insert above.
This was a pretty good pull. Cam Newton is awesome. Definitely a hot *ROOKIE*. This card is glossy, unlike the base cards that feel like 1990 Fleer.
This insert sort of gave me a headache. Don't stare at it too long or you might get one too. In all honesty, I find it hard to look at.
A hit! I actually pulled a hit from a .99 cent retail pack. I was shocked, to say the least, and actually didn't even realize I pulled it until I went through the stack of cards again. Not sure how I missed it, but I did. Martez Wilson is a *ROOKIE* on the Saints. He is a very good outside linebacker who played for Illinois.
I'll leave you with these, and let you know that if we trade, you might receive one of the cards below in your trade package regardless if you asked for it or not, unless I decide to burn them first.
What do you want for that Cam Newton?!
