Opening Day at Camden Yards

Orioles vs. Twins, 3:05pm April 6, 2012.  It was a beautiful day in Baltimore.
The scene from left field before the game.
 Joe Mauer pre-game warm ups.
This is a new section of Camden Yards. 400 people can watch the game from here.  It's also a full service bar. Any fan with a game ticket can have access. Pretty cool.
 Carl Pavano warming up.
 Pre-game ceremonies.
 First pitch.
And then there was this. Out of the right field area this toolbox ran onto the field in the top of the 4th inning.
He managed to run around for a looooooong time before cops were able to corner him.
There were many cops on the field. The guy was ripped--in great shape, and ran really fast.
 Cops closing in...
And he was tackled and cuffed.
Just a reminder to everyone.  Thankfully  most people do not need this reminder.
Josh Willingham...he homered today.

It was a very fun time.  The O's wound up winning and Jake Arrieta pitched seven solid innings. Nick Markakis homered and had a triple.  Camden Yards is awesome.

I liked the O's intensity, we will see how long they can keep it up this season. I'll be at the game again on Sunday!  Have a great weekend everyone.

  1. I was listening on the radio so I didn't know some idiot ran on the field. Not a smart move to get on the field on opening day since the 5-0 presence is a little more noticeable.

  2. I was at home sick as a dog watching that game on TV. Bert Blyleven (Twins TV analyst) made mention of "some idiot" running around the field in the top of the 4th. Oh, Bert. lol
