Sticky Situations

Seems appropriate for me to show some 2012 stickers I got due to the Phillies being in a sticky situation.  They are in sole possession of last place in the NL East, a place where they (and fans) are not used to being.  To say this offense is bad would be a complete and total understatement.  Utley and Howard really do bring pop to the lineup, and without them it seems the others are lost. The only thing is, at this point I am not sure if even they can help this team.

At some point the fans are going to have to start seeing this team for what they are now, as opposed to what they were then.  It'll save a lot of heartache that way.  These are not the Phillies of old--but they certainly are showing their old age.
As opposed to the Braves, who are playing very well.  The Orioles are starting to show their true colors, and the Red Sox? Well, I don't know what to say about them except I have never seen a team with such horrible luck.  A 9-0 lead isn't safe anymore?  Pretty amazing and I'm sure really hard for their fans.
Many say that the Dodgers are one of the best teams in baseball right now, and the Astros are one of the worst.  How did the Astros beat them 12-0 today then?  This week Eric Hosmer hit into a triple play. Welcome to the big leagues, kid.
The Cardinals look to not be missing Albert Pujols too much, but the Angels might be scratching their heads a bit.  They sit at 11-5 right now, four games ahead of Cincinnati.  Pujols has yet to homer and has been struggling to say the least.

The Phillies head to Arizona to take on the D-backs starting tomorrow, and I am very nervous, as are many fans I am sure.  At some point, it is not going to be acceptable to say, "it's only April."

  1. I always stuck baseball card stickers to my folders and trapper keeper when I was a kid. Come to think of it, I probably still would!

That's right. I said TRAPPER KEEPER!
