There was a bit of a scare for the already ailing Phillies. Hunter Pence hurt his non throwing shoulder diving for a ball two nights ago. This resulted in Pence being out of the lineup and Ty Wigginton hitting cleanup for the Phillies. In an offense that is already struggling, obviously that wasn't going to help things much. Today Pence went for an MRI in Phoenix. Traditional pessimistic thinking would lend itself to believing that Pence would be done for a long period of time with some sort of horrible shoulder tear or strain or something. That would be a huge dagger for already depleted Phillies.
Thankfully, the MRI showed no damage and Pence is in the lineup tonight. Whew.
Pence is also one of the players in my player collection. Here are some cards with him on them--cards I got at the Chantilly Show in Virginia.
I love the card in the middle, the Tristar Prospects card. That was one of the finds in a dime box that are like gold to a collector. I had also never seen the Pence/Braun card on the right. Makes me want to do a "caption this."Green and gold serial numbered Bowmans. I can never get enough serial numbered cards.
The Tier One cards are sweet looking. I'll never tire of chasing as many as I can for the players I collect.
A red and green version of Bowman Platinum Pence.
I'm coming up to 50,000 page views. I'm thinking of doing another contest to celebrate. The question is, what kind of contest...
To those I owe cards to, I'm on it! To those I owe an email to--I'm on that as well!
An MRI doesn't sound funner at all! Glad he's ok.
