And Now For Your Roy Halladay is on the DL for 6 to 8 Weeks News of the Day

Contrary to popular belief, Roy Halladay is not an invincible cyborg.  Halladay has a grade 1/2 strain of his right latissimus dorsi.  That's medical talk for his shoulder hurts and he will be out of the Phillies pitching rotation for anywhere from six to eight weeks.

Six to eight weeks?  That's like...maybe two months!!!
Anyone with eyesight has seen that Roy hasn't been himself at all this season, giving up grand slams, having lower velocity on his pitches, and just generally seeming to be gassed much earlier than normal (normal being throwing complete game shutouts and the like).  So maybe this is a good thing--he'll have some rest and come back towards the end of the season and throw like the Roy we've all come to know.

The Phillies are struggling, and there does not seem to be an end in sight to the struggles.  Ryan Howard hasn't been seen in weeks, although he is apparently rehabbing in Florida.  Chase Utley has been hanging around the dugout during games, but no one knows when or if he will be back.  Vance Worley is on the disabled list, and should be back soon. Roy Oswalt signed with the Rangers today.

But who knows.  I'm trying to stay optimistic, because we are still very much in it in the division.

In case there is any doubt about how big of a fan I am of Roy Halladay, check out my phone:

And these are two more 2011 Triple Threads base cards to add to my growing collection, which now stands at 18.
