Paying My Debts

That'll teach me to go against my team! But hey, who can blame me when the Phillies have been so unpredictable and bad this season?  @VarsityCards (aka Crackin' Wax) and I (@FunnerHere) got into a little friendly wagering on Twitter.  He said that the Twins would lose the last two games of the Phillies vs. Twins series, and I said no way that would happen.

He suggested we bet a card for it, I countered and said no, let's bet a few packs!  My preference of packs were Series 2, and his turned out to be Archives.

So, who won?

Yup, behind the bat of Jim Thome, who hit a 466 ft. homer in the series, the Phillies managed to win two in a row.  This has happened so few times this season that I just didn't believe.  That will teach me, right?

I let Mr. Crackin' Wax know that if he pulls a Harper or Darvish auto that will add some serious salt to the wound of losing this incredibly serious bet (eye roll).  I'm not even sure you can pull a Harper or Darvish auto from retail packs.

So no Series 2 for me, but since I had to go buy these packs, why not pick up a rack pack for myself?  Ok!

So much for my self imposed ban on buying cards until the National the first week in August.  It's just ONE rack pack, right?!?
