They Certainly Weren't Boy Scouts

Nonetheless, they were scouting boy wonder Cole Hamels yesterday in Colorado.  Who are they?  Scouts from the Dodgers, Angels, and Rangers.  There were also scouts from the Marlins, Pirates, and Giants.  And Cole didn't disappoint his suitors.

Oh no, quite the opposite.

One run, six hits, and seven strikeouts were what the Rockies were able to muster off of Cole.  His record is now 11-4, and if you ask anyone in Philly what pitcher you'd want pitching game one of a playoff series, the answer wouldn't be Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee.  It'd for sure be Cole Hamels.

Not that I am saying the Phillies are even thinking about playoffs, but they are probably thinking about what they could get in return for Hamels, should the need arise to trade him.  Hamels has said he wants to be back in Philly, but we all know how that goes.  As I've mentioned before, being from the west coast, the Dodgers might be an attractive option for Hamels.
Talk of Jimmy Rollins going to the Dodgers has also come up over the past few days.
Who's next, Roy Halladay?  Stranger things have happened...

PS-Thanks to Rob for these cards!

  1. It would be nice to have him here in Texas, but I'm not giving up the farm for him considering he probably wouldn't stay.
