National Sports Collectors Convention: Day 3

Good evening everyone.  Day three of the NSCC was great yet again, but I wasn't expecting anything different of course.  I spent the beginning of the day waiting in line at Topps to get minis!  There is a pack redemption program to get exclusive Gypsy Queen rookie card minis.  They look like this:
Two of these belong to Derek at Tomahawk Chopping. I am sending him the Harper and one of the RGIIIs.  This is a wildly popular program at the Topps booth.  I got three cards at first by opening 9 packs of 2012 Series 1 retail, and then I bought a box of 2012 Ginter and got more of the cards.  Since there were only 24 packs of Ginter in the hobby box, I was only able to get six more cards, and fell just short of the 9 card set.  Andrew Luck is hard to come by, as is Yu Darvish. I got the last one they had today.

The Ginter box held something pretty amazing.  As I said, I opened the box at the Topps booth, but I had some help.  The guys at Topps helped me open the packs, and one of the packs I didn't open contained...

An /50 rip card!  Needless to say this is going up on the bay soon, unripped.  This was probably my best pull so far at the convention.  The other two Ginter hits were mid range jersey cards. One was a Hank Conger jersey.

I spent a lot of the day going through boxes again, and got some more good stuff.  What I haven't found one of yet--so far--are my 2011 Halladay Triple Threads /1500 base cards!  I have gone through thousands of cards and nothing.  Hopefully I will hit some in the days ahead.

One of the best finds I had today were these:
In a dollar card box, I found TWO Mike Olt serial numbered rookies!  I also found a couple of game used cards in quarter boxes.

I will have more to report in the days to come.  Tomorrow I'm doing more dime box searching!
