Day four at the NSCC consisted of lots of dime box searching for me. I scanned hundreds of cards tonight to show on the blog in future posts. I imagine showing everything will take me months of posting.
A great part of my day today was that I got to meet a few fellow bloggers. What are the odds that in over 800 tables Ryan from "O" No Not Another Orioles Blog and I would be searching through the same boxes? Ryan and I spent time chatting today and going through cards together. It was good times. He made a majorly sweet purchase that I got to see in person and that I am sure he will be featuring very soon on his blog. Ryan also introduced me to William from Foul Bunt and (another) Ryan from The Great Orioles Autograph Project. It was nice to meet all of you guys!
I took some pictures. Wanna see?
Here is the line for the Panini redemption program. It was long. Very long. The people in it waited over two hours, easily.
$388,375 for this Babe Ruth beauty.
Here is a drawing they were holding at the Upper Deck booth.
$388,375 for Babe's bat, also.
This stuff is cool and all, but strikes me as a little gross. All of the stuff sold here is game worn.
All of these are game worn with names on the back. The big names go for big bucks, as you can imagine.
Here is the guy from Storage Wars signing at the Leaf booth. I had no idea who he was but people were sort of going nuts.
I Tweeted this, but here is Ali's mouth guard!
Finally, the rare George Bush card that is being given away in a drawing.
I have a few videos, too, which I will post when I figure out the best way to do so. Tomorrow is bargain day! Although things are very picked-through, the dealers mark things down since it is the last day of the show. More to come!
