An Epic Post

In the spirit of my last post, I present to you visual evidence of my slight obsession with collecting as many serial numbered Roy Halladay cards I can.
How about some epic performances?

The Phillies beat the Reds today in Cincinnati. They did it with the trio of Tyler Cloyd, Justin DeFratus, and Philippe Aumont.

Who, you ask?

Baseball is a nutty game. Here we have the Reds, with the second best record in baseball behind the Nationals, with their Cy Young candidate pitcher Johnny Cueto on the mound, versus three guys that have very, very little major league experience. Cloyd was brilliant. He struck out nine batters over seven innings and gave up only four hits (one being a solo homer to Jay Bruce).

DeFratus has been on the disabled list all year, so today was his first major league start this season. Philippe Aumont played the role of Jonathan Papelbon today, minus giving up a homer to Chipper Jones to lose the game. Aumont picked up his first major league save, helping the Phillies improve to only five games under .500. Stranger things have happened, right?
