As I sit and watch the Phillies vs. Twins game, I thought I'd show you guys the results of an Archives rack pack I picked up today at Wal-Mart.
I like the look and feel of this set, and I absolutely loved the packaging, black with bright colors. Topps does a great job of bringing us back to the past with these cards.
18 cards per rack pack. The first bunch yielded a nice Chris Davis and a timeless Ken Griffey Jr...not to mention a Harmon Kilebrew. Also, Asdrubal Cabrera has braces? Interesting.
The Gregg Jefferies throwback card is quite familiar, as I think I have fifty of them in my commons box. I pulled a Bryce Harper, which is a rarity for me. I hardly ever pull any Harpers, which at one point might have been preferable. I have changed my tune on him a bit these days, having watched him play several times. I think he is more humble than he appeared to be when he was younger.
This set is a candidate for a hobby box at the National. Heck, every new set is in the running for a hobby box!
