National Hobby Box: 2013 Goodwin Champions

The Upper Deck booth at the National was pretty busy each day.  I would also say that Upper Deck had one of the largest areas from which to display their stuff, but that could have been the way it was set up. Regardless, the setup was really nice.  As you can see they had a scoreboard set up and a table where kids could make their own sports cards.  A nice touch, as there were several kids there this time around.
I've always liked Goodwin Champions, but I haven't opened the product in quite some time.  Upper Deck had a redemption program where you got a certain number of packs of special cards for purchasing their products. This box got me four redemption packs, and there was a chance of pulling an auto in all of them. While I didn't have any luck pulling an auto out of the packs I ripped, I did have better luck with this box...and another Upper Deck product that will be discussed in due time.
Said box, above.
I bought the box at Blowout Cards, and they gave redemption tickets to turn in to Upper Deck.  It was a fun box to open.  Here are the hits:

Gary Stevens even used jersey and on card auto!   The best part about this is that I can sell them as a lot on eBay.

Then I got kind of lucky...
This is a Lonnie Shelton gold mini...
A hand numbered 1/1 Presidential mini!  Sweet card, of course.
The last hit was an Alex Honnold even used memorabilia card.  Honnold is a professional rock climber, best known for scaling huge mountains without a safety harness.  Craziness.  You should read about this kid sometime.

Better yet, watch:

  1. Nice pulls on those Gary Stevens cards. He comes from the next town over from where I live.
