The Hits Kept on Coming

Here is the story of one of the recent group breaks I did with Rich at Layton Sports Cards. there was a huge baseball mixer I couldn't resist getting into, so I bought in.  The team I got in the random was the  Boston Red Sox.  I was ok with this.

There were a few boxes opened and I got pretty much nothing, but then, as if the box gods heard my complaining on not getting hits, it started.  Hit after hit, after hit...and here they are.

One of the boxes was Leaf Just Vault, which has several autos from the mid-2000s Just Minors.

Here's a Daniel Bard auto, #10/200.
Next up, Lars Anderson, #7/25. Nice low numbered card.
Then I had a few gems.  Here is a Josh Reddick base auto.
But I also got a Josh Reddick black auto, #2/25!
Things then got pretty interesting pretty fast.

Check out this Will Middlebrooks auto!  This one is numbered #21/25.  Pretty nice hit there.
Another box was 2013 Topps Museum Collection, where I got this Jon Lester jumbo patch card.
But the best card is last.  From Leaf Best of Baseball, I got a graded Carl Yastrzemski 1967 card!  It would've been nice to see the grade a bit higher, but hey, I will take it.
The corners are pretty sharp and the colors are decent too. I think a 7.5 was sort of a low grade, actually.  But hey, I don't work for PSA. Just saying that if I did, it'd be at least an 8!
One of the eye opening things about reading the back of this card is the last sentence. "During the winter months, Carl works for a Boston printing firm."

I wonder what jobs today's baseball players take on in the off season these days?  My, how times have changed!
