For those following along with my 2011 Topps Series One Hobby Box break posts, you might recall that I pulled some nice stuff. First up was this:

The 1/1 Magenta Printing Plate of the Chicago Cubs.
I wasn't sure if this was the box hit or not, but many of you thought that was not the case, and that I'd pull something else. Low and behold, I did:
So we all know there are short print cards in this set, and they aren't always immediately identifiable. That was the case with the third hit of this box, posted below:
After reading about some of the "hidden" short print cards in the set, I went back and looked at all the base cards I pulled from this hobby box. Maybe the tenth card or so I came across was this Chapman Sparkle Variation (twink) card. Yes, I missed it when I pulled it out of the pack, but these are kind of easy to miss if you aren't looking for them. So then I went through the rest and didn't find any others.
But, have you looked? You can find the cards and where the sparkles are located on them here. I definitely go through the base cards much more carefully now.
These are pretty scarce. There are only a few Chapmans that have been posted on eBay: Click here to see them.
The more popular the player, the more these are going for. Take, for example, Derek Jeter. Oh hell, just click here and you can view all the cards that have sold and that are active on eBay.
There are no stated odds anywhere that I can find in terms of insertion rates. Does anyone know? Does anyone else have any of these cards? I did cave and buy the Halladay variation, sensing that the value of these might go up. My next want is the Kyle Drabek variation. I'm hoping I can pull it (haha) get it cheap off of eBay, or get it in a trade.
Now go check your base cards!
I think I heard somewhere that the "twinks" are falling at about 1 per case.
