So, What's the Meaning?

pence [pɛns]
n (Economics, Accounting & Finance / Currencies) a plural of penny
Usage: Since the decimalization of British currency and the introduction of the abbreviation p, as in 10p, 85p, etc., the abbreviation has tended to replace pence in speech, as in 4p (ˌfɔːˈpiː), 12p (ˌtwɛlvˈpiː), etc.

Well played (again) Ruben Amaro. Well played.

The cards below have nothing to do with this post.  I wanted to get these scans out of "draft" mode since they have been there forever.  Here are the results of a very random pack of Series 1.

Try to contain your excitement.

I cannot wait to see what this Pence fellow will do for our lineup.  Should be an interesting stretch run!!!

  1. You'll enjoy watching him play. He hustles every play and is a really nice guy. He loves the fans too. You guys better treat him right, ha. Hopefully he'll help you win a World Series soon.

  2. I am sure he will get a huge ovation in his first at bat tomorrow. If he is anything like you say, he will be a fast fan favorite in Philly. You guys got some good prospects--hopefully they pan out in the future for you! I'm no Astros hater. Phils and Astros have had a good business relationship these past few years.
