I Kind of Wish They Both Could Win

Being a Phillies fan, I can't say I have a strong feeling one way or the other as to who wins the World Series. The way I see it is that if the Rangers win, it's "they won even without Cliff Lee," and if the Cardinals win, it's "they beat the Phillies, who were supposed to be there." But, I think in this situation I have to take the bitterness emotion out of it because of how amazing this series has been.  I think we are seeing a situation where both teams are probably deserving to win this World Series.

Last night was the best baseball game I have ever seen. I've been thinking about it, and I cannot think of a game that had more at stake, that had more drama, and that was so entertaining.  Something that struck me was that the announcers didn't really even need to speak--the game was entertaining by itself.
As a Phillies fan, yeah, it's tough that they are not there.  But as a baseball fan, I'm not even thinking about that.  This has been an incredible series, and tonight will be the culmination of it all--the ultimate drama--win or go home.  Of course it had to come down to this, right?  The one thing that is awful about tonight is that someone has to lose this game.  Do the Cardinals have a momentum advantage?  Yes, I'd say so.  Does that matter?  Honestly I don't think it matters as much as it usually would.  If there is one thing to expect with these two teams it is to expect the unexpected.

I'm really looking forward to game 7 tonight.  Who do I think will win?  I have no idea.  I think the Rangers have a bit more at stake than the Cards, since this would be their second World Series loss in a row.  But, I also think they are a bit deflated.  Having a two run lead blown two times and then losing on a walk-off homer has to be heartbreaking.  The Texas locker room looked like a team that had just ended their season after the game last night.  The mood was solemn and quiet.  The Cards, on the other hand, looked as if they just won it all.

So who to root for?  Well, I will root for them both.  I'll just say "go baseball."  Things have certainly been funner, and they are about to get a whole lot more dramatic.
