Before I get to the trade, not sure if anyone has heard, but there is a new set out called Gypsy Queen (dripping sarcasm). I have read post after post about GQ, and every single time I come across the cards I cannot help but get THIS stuck in my head:
Don't judge me. Yeah, before my time, but I'm a fan and I have seen Cher in concert, actually in NYC at Madison Square Garden a bunch of years back. But Gypsys, Tramps, and Thieves is NOT one of my favorite Cher songs. In fact, it's not even in the top five. However thanks to Topps, it is now in my head almost every single day. Including right now. Damnit!
On to the trade...
So recently I got an email from Jeff over at My Sports and Sports Cards asking if I wanted to trade. Of course I want to trade! He collects White Sox, Colts and University of Michigan cards. Paul Konerko is also a focal point of his collecting.
Jeff told me he is relatively new to trading online, and he offered to send his trade package first, and then I could send back something in return. He sent it super fast.
Some awesome stuff showed up in my mailbox, highlighted below:
I was also happy to get some vintage cards in the package Jeff sent. I am lacking in old school cards for sure, so these are a welcomed addition to my team collection.
Michael Jack Schmidt next to Chase and Roy. An old school icon between two current icons.
The Oswalt Icons card is numbered. The bottom left Heritage card is a Vance Worley rookie I didn't have. Vance who, you ask? Vance deserves his own post, coming soon to a Funner blog near you.
Thanks for the trade, Jeff. If anyone is looking for a great trade, grab your White Sox and Paul Konerko cards and hit him up at his My Sports and Sports Cards blog.
Gypsys, Tramps, and Thieves is still in my head.
I refuse to click that youtube link; it can't get stuck in my head if I've never heard it!
ReplyDeleteNice haul, love the '76 and '78 sets.
Glad you enjoyed your cards. I've already started another stack for you, but it'll probably get Cher stuck in your head again when you receive it. Sorry, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nathan. This will now forever be my defense argument for being a metal head, I can never get a Cher song stuck in my head!
