Here's the last of the value pack stuff. Better stuff on the way in posts to come, including a pretty big hit from a Series 2 hobby box.
I love me some 2007 Topps! The saving grace here are the Hamels and Madson cards. It never fails that there are always one or two packs of 2007 Topps Series 1 hiding in value packs. I knew they were coming, Topps.
This is the first Yankee card like this I pulled. I have no idea if it's rare or what. Also, Nick Swisher used to be a member of the A's. Moving on.
These cards are already gone in a trade package, minus the Mantle. However I do have a billion of those if anyone is looking for them.
GREAT news. An almost 5 year old piece of gum is also for trade. New in package, "freshly" pulled out of a pack from the value box. Ready to be graded. Flavorful, no doubt.

Presented without comment: Crotch-rod. Wait, that sounds awful.
How 'bout that Phillies game last night? Top 9 in Colorado, Phils down 3-1. Two outs. Carlos Ruiz gets up and doubles. John Mayberry Jr. gets up to pinch hit and works a foul ball filled nice 3-2 count. Then Huston Street throws a meatball down the middle, Mayberry homers, tie ball game. That folks, is clutch. Madson holds the Rockies in the bottom of the 9th, Victorino homers in the top of the 10th. Bastardo holds the Rockies in the bottom of the 10th. Ball game, folks. Sweet.
What do you want for the gum??
ReplyDeleteNice Madson and Hamels, and a very cool DiMaggio, I've always liked those Mantles, and I've now got several pages worth of them!! Smed gave me the better part of the 2007 set.
I kinda like the clutch hits from the last Pirates game, Ibanez homers to tie the game, Pence doubles to scoring position, then Ibanez comes through with another double for the walk-off!!! Even though Pence was robbed of his first hit for the Phils, his foot was clearly on the bag though the ball was still in the air, about a foot from the glove!!!
Yeah, yeah our season is being punted away by the inept management of Jim Tracy and the complete wasteland that is the Rockies bullpen. And now we have no ace of the staff. April's not that far away right?
ReplyDeleteThanks for twisting the dagger, Jules :)
Phillies just keep winning. It's crazy. I couldn't believe the Pirates blew it a couple days ago in the 8th.
