Very rarely will I ever post on here about non-baseball items, but I think this should be marked with a post. Say what you want about Mike Vick (I was a huge critic) but he had an incredible, record setting night. 28 points in the first quarter. 333 yards, 4TD, 2 Rushing TDs. 59-28. Most points ever scored on Monday Night Football. First player ever to pass for 300, rush for 50, throw 4 passes for touchdowns, and rush for 2 touchdowns. Great game.
Steve Young and the other commentators were discussing whether or not this performance was one of the top five of ALL TIME. It's hard to argue that it's not up there with the all time great quarterback performances. And he did all of this in the rain, on the road, against his former mentor and friend McNabb (who, by the way, inked a 40 million guaranteed 5 year deal with the 'Skins earlier that day). I think Vick will get a similar deal from the Eagles after the season. He is undoubtedly a franchise guy. And to think Andy Reid was hell-bent on Kevin Kolb being the starter all season? Seems absurd now.
