He was lookin' for a soul to steal...
This afternoon after work I stopped by my local card shop to just "look around." I've been wanting to stop in to see what new stuff they had and the like. I also wanted to maybe get a pack or two to open up tonight. Well I went in and was looking around, talking to the guys that work there like I usually do. We got to talking about the short prints in the new 2012 set, and mainly about the infamous squirrel card. So we were just chit chatting and I was trying to figure out what packs to pick up. I found myself mindlessly picking up pack after pack of 2012 Topps from an open hobby box. Suddenly I had ten packs and I came to a realization, as I stared at the packs and then at the hobby boxes.
Packs Boxes. Packs. Boxes.
Then came the devil on my shoulder while the angel hovered above.
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(But you already have ten packs in your hands).
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(But the squirrels...do it for the squirrels).
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(Wrapper redemption...).
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(But you're trying to complete this set).
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(Support local businesses)!
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(Roy Halladay is on the box and every...single...pack)!
You don't need to buy a hobby box.
(Short prints! So many short prints)!
You
don't
need
to
buy
a--.
I bought a hobby box.
The hobby box is powerful. I supported a local business, saved the squirrels, I can redeem the wrappers, I can hopefully complete my set, and I get to see Roy on every pack!
Ok devil, you win. This time.
Good luck. Maybe the devil knew that your hobby box was gonna have some nice hits.
