Today is the Anniversary of an Epic Game in Phillies and Reds History

The date: May 25, 2011
The venue: Citizen's Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
The teams: Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies

What makes this epic: The game went 19 innings!  It lasted six hours and eleven minutes.  The Phillies used 9 pitchers, but it was Roy Halladay who started the game.  He went seven innings, giving up 11 hits and three earned runs.  The game went into extra innings tied 4-4.  Then things got really interesting.

Journeyman Wilson Valdez wound up being the winning pitcher of record, becoming the first player since Babe Ruth in 1921 to start a game in the field and wind up the winning pitcher.

He has a terrible auto, but the card was only three bucks.  It had to go in the Phillies "special" card binder.
